Welcome
to the website of garden photographer Gerald Majumdar.
I am passionate
about photographing gardens, plants, flowers and trees. My interest
in photography started when I was still at school but my passion for
garden photography came about after designing and developing my own
two acre garden in Worcestershire which I now open for the National
Gardens Scheme.
I enjoy capturing
the hidden beauty of flowers in close-up as well as gardens big and
small. Please view the Gallery for examples
of my work. Publications that have used my photographs include
Gardener's World, Gardens Illustrated, The Garden (RHS), Gardens Monthly,
Saga Magazine, Country Living, Sainsburys Magazine, Good Housekeeping,
Womans Weekly, Financial Times, The Times, Daily Mail and European
magazines as well as catalogues and websites.
I was very pleased
to have had two of my photographs selected for the International Garden
Photographer of the Year Competition 2008 in the Plant
Portraits category and the Trees
category. In the 2009 competition I had my entry commended in
the People
in the Garden category and in 2010 I was a finalist in the Garden
Views category. My image
of Jeffersonia dubia has been chosen as the Image of the Month
by the Garden Photographers Association for April 2010.
I
am a member of the Garden
Photographers Association.
